MFA in Writing for Children

The MFA programs at Vermont College of Fine Arts are low-residency, which means I will go up to Montpelier for five two-week residencies over the two years leading to my graduation in July 2010. Residencies are an intense series of lectures, workshops, and bonding with my classmates (amazing what living in a dorm can do to you, no matter how old you are!). Between residencies, I submit homework "packets" to my advisor every four weeks. These packets consist of creative work, critical essays, an annotated bibliography of current reading, and a substantive letter that comments on the state of my creative process. I hope to graduate with a complete, submission-worthy draft of my novel: The Treasure of the Seltzer King!
